Test Methods and Requirements For IP5 and IP6 Rain Test Chamber

IP protection grade "rain test chamber, mainly applicable to external lighting and signal device and automobile lamp enclosure protection." If the rain test chamber meets grade IP5 and grade IP6, it can be called splash test device. The test method and requirements are described in detail as follows:
I. IP5 test method:
1. The internal diameter of the nozzle meets 6.3mm
2. Spraying rate :(12.5 + 0.625) L/min
3. Nozzle water pressure: about 30kPa (0.3bar) (equivalent to the vertical free jet flow height of 2.5m).
4. Test time: 1min per square meter is calculated according to the surface area of the tested electric appliance, but at least 3min.
5. Nozzle distance: it is about 3m away from the surface of the tested electric appliance (but the distance can be appropriately shortened if necessary in order to spray the electric appliance from all directions)
Ii. IP6 test method:
1. Nozzle inner diameter: 12.5mm
2. Spraying rate :(100 + / 5) L/min
3. Nozzle water pressure: about 100kPa (1bar) (corresponds to the height of free jet flow in the vertical direction of 8m).
